My Encomium of Love In Motion

Love has never been nor will it ever be endemic.  Love just flows in motion.  It makes me understand Zora Neale Hurston’s classic and classy description: “Love makes your soul crawl out from its hiding place.” Whoever declares their divorce from love is simply a sad soul with a sad case of  heart-nesia.  Their pain has tossed their heart into a crippling malaise and inability to remember the joy of love.  Their soul has forgotten the poems it once wrote in iambic pentameter: “i wait| each night| when phone| time shines |your light” (more…)

It Ain’t Over

On March 31st, Daily Intel, New York magazine’s blog posted an article which was at best inappropriate and at its worst racist.  The blog featured a picture of President and Mrs. Obama boarding Marine One.  The headline of the post, “Now That’s Something to Salute” refers to the author’s opinion that President Obama’s attention is not on the traditional salute to the marine guarding the helicopter but instead the author makes this note: “It also looks like Obama might just be blocking the sun’s glare as he checks out Michelle’s booty.” see  article at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/03/31/emnew-yorkem-magazine-blo_n_181491.html (more…)

North Korea’s Wolf Ticket

North Korea has once again taken a threatening posture by defying UN Security Council Resolution 1718 which imposed sanctions on them as a result of their nuclear testing done in 2006.  The resolution called on North Korea to “suspend all activities related to its ballistic missile programme.”  This recent “testing” , according to U.S. ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, “constitutes a clear violation.” (more…)
